Hello everyone and welcome to the FingerInTheNet website!
Today I will present my working method for The CCNA 200-125 and the CCNP R-S.
To have the CCNA Routing and Switching. There are two options:
– Take the ICND1 100-105 200-105 exam:
– ICND1 100-105 – 151 euros (1024 Pages)
– ICND2 200-105 – 151 euros (992 pages)
– Take the CCNA 200-125 exam directly:
– CCNA 200-125 – 297 euros (1024 – 992 – 2016 Pages)
– Buy the two official training manuals
– Flip them
– Do the tests before each chapter
– Make your decision
Of course you have your experience as a network administrator! But you've never passed a CISCO certification. For the first time, I strongly advise you to start with ICND1 certification why?
– Fewer subjects to review
To have the CCNP Routing and Switching, I advise you to take these exams in this order:
If you have followed my advice, you have just had your CCNA 200-125 and you are embarking on the CCNP Switch !!!
Why start with SWITCH certification?
The official CCNP BOOK SWITCH 300-115 has 527 pages
The official CCNP BOOK ROUTE 300-101 has 840 pages
The official CCNP TSHOOT 300-135 Book has 988 pages
For the TSHOOT, I advise you VIVEMENT to have the SWITCH and ROUTE certifications
several topics are dealt with in the SWITCH AND in the ROUTE!! (AAA, SSH, SDM, CEF, and others)
Official book CISCO Press only!!
The test is based on these manuals. So that will be your reference! You can consult other course materials (Book, Internet, etc.), but they only need to provide additional information to better understand the topics covered in the books of the CCNA and the CCNP.
Don't buy these used books!! Each book has a serial number!! This serial number can be activated on the CISCO Press website to download the materials provided with your manuals! As soon as you have it, create an account on Cisco press and add your books.
If you order them on the CISCO Press website, you will pay a tax of about 20% (customs fees…) Buy them instead on Amazon, they are usually cheaper.

Preparing for these exams requires a lot of time and personal investment.
It is therefore important and essential to prepare a review schedule and follow it !!!
It's a fact, our brain is more brought to record information in the morning!
So get up a little early, take a shower, have a coffee, have breakfast and get to work!
Learning should not be done via a blog or other course materials!
Take the official certification guide! It's your new bible! She must neither leave you!
Whether in paper format or with an electronic straightener it must accompany you everywhere! On the subway, at work, in the bathroom!
It is forbidden:
– Playing the toilet with your smartphone!
What for? It's 30 minutes lost a day! Take advantage of these 30 minutes to review!
– Hanging out on Facebook and other social networks!
What for? : It's a waste of time!
– To put music to revise!
What for? : This music is great! Wait I want to put this one now!
The ONLY and only music you can listen to when you learn or review is concentration music. check it out on YouTube
Reading a chapter allows us to remember 10% of the latter, doing a course on the subject treated allows us to retain 90% of the chapter!!
Prepare courses for your co-workers (Admin System, Developers or even your network admin colleagues!)
Make revision sheets.
Create a blog!!
Morning – Learning
Evening – !!!! Review
As soon as you finish learning an article:
Make Labs!! (With Packet Tracer, GNS3 or your platform)
Take the DIKTA tests (Questions at the beginning of each chapter)
Prepare your course
Answer lots of questions about the chapter dealt with with the software
As soon as you don't make too many mistakes (95% success) , repeat the DIKTA test, if you have everything right, move on to the next chapter!
This method will allow you to familiarize yourself with the test questions and put your finger on your weaknesses.
Get to work
If you want to pass a CISCO certification, it is because you are probably already a network administrator or that you are doing a trade or studies related to this trade!
So you can
– Apply your new skills,
– Discuss a particular protocol with your co-workers
– Study the architecture on which you work
– Propose improvements in your work
– Create documentation on a particular topic based on your new knowledge
Talking to your colleagues and your boss about your project may help you
– to have some time set up
– to have you fund your passage to the exam
– to put you on a spot related to your studies of the moment
This niche is not a dead or lost niche! it's up to you to make it as profitable as possible
Do you play sports? Good! Continue!!!!
Don't you care?? You're going to have to do !!!!
As you know, sport has enormous virtues !!!
– Feeling of well-being
– Reducing stress
So fire potato!
It is important to have a deadline for your revisions !!!!
Not on your calendar, but on the PearsonVue website.
– You motivate
– Don't release the pressure
– Know how much time you have left to keep this Machiavellian schedule that rots your evenings and weekends
You have just finished your schedule and you will spend 2 or 3 months tightening your belt at the level:
So find yourself a reward for your months of review! (If passed the exam or not).
– Partying! (to forget or celebrate)
– Go on weekends with the people we put aside a little during these revisions.
You just got your certification?? Congratulations!!!!!!
– Let them know (Facebook, LinkedIn, Friends, co-worker)
– Write a short comment below the article to share your tips with other readers!
What to do now??
Prepare another certification !!!
In case of failure
To get a certification, it takes about 800/1000 (or 16/20)
– The courses and exams are in English
– Course materials are about 800 pages long
– Some questions are ambiguous
As you know, CISCO certifications require a lot of work! This is what gives the fame of these certifications in our profession!!
And I'm still here:) to thoroughly revise my certifications, to create articles for my readers.
Hoping this article has been helpful to you! Don't hesitate to let me know!!
