– QOS –
Quality of service (QOS) is the ability of a network to guarantee one service (e.g. VOIP) at the expense of others.
Congestion is the trigger for qOS implementation.
Following the above interpretation, congestion is the saturation of an interface (often the exit route of the network). This saturation exceeds the ability to memorize (queue), the equipment applies the basic law FIFO (First In First Out). The first to arrive is the first out.
In the event of DROP (pubellisation) of VOIP or videoconferencing packages, customers will be severely impacted.
To address QOS, here is the proposed plan:
– classification and marking
– congestion management
– congestion prevention
